A Tropical Tuna Resource Assessment Group meeting was recently held in Mooloolaba.
The main focus of the meeting was the discussion of recommended catches for Striped marlin and Broadbill swordfish, and the provision of stock status advice for Yellowfin tuna, Albacore tuna and Bigeye tuna in the Eastern Tuna and Billfish Fishery.
The Group also discussed the outcomes of the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission Scientific Committee meeting held in Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia, during early August.
The Eastern Tuna and Billfish Fishery Annual Research Statement has also been developed for 2014-15.
