On Tuesday, 24 March 2015 a forum for recreational fishing and conservation stakeholders was held in Hobart. The purpose of the forum was to provide information on current management and present the most recent science in the Small Pelagic Fishery. It also provided an opportunity to hear conservation and recreational fishing stakeholders’ views on the management of the fishery.
An earlier Small Pelagic Fishery stakeholder forum was held on 17 October 2014.
The following presentations were given:

- Review and update of the harvest strategy settings for the Commonwealth Small Pelagic Fishery (PDF, 4 MB), Dr Tony Smith, CSIRO

- Vessel Management Plan – Small Pelagic Fishery (PDF, 2 MB), Mr Mike Gerner, AFMA
- Stakeholder presentation: Public concerns about large factory /freezers vessels and AFMA’s management of Australia’s Small Pelagic Fishery (PDF, 157 KB), Mr Jon Bryan, Tasmanian Conservation Trust
A presentation was also given by Mr Mark Nicolai, Tasmanian Association for Recreational Fishing Inc.
