A classic dish, typically associated with lunches down by the beach or dinner at ‘the local’, nothing beats Australia’s iconic fish and chips.

Here at the Australian Fisheries Management Authority (AFM
A), our management aims to ensure that there is a healthy supply of seafood so that current and future generations can continue to enjoy this Aussie favourite.

To celebrate this tastebud fave, the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC) is running a national competition to find Australia’s best fish and chips and they want your vote!

The Fish and Chip Awards 2017 were officially launched today by the Assistant Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources, Anne Ruston.

Voting is open now with the national winner announced on 28 September 2017 at the National Seafood Industry Awards in Sydney.

The awards are a great opportunity for lovers of Australian seafood to have their say on which fish and chips tantalises their tastebuds, and for local businesses to be recognised for their commitment to dishing up much loved, sustainable, Australian seafood.
