The Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC) has today released three reports related to seismic surveys and the fishing industry:

  1. Optimising processes and policy to minimise business and operational impacts of seismic surveys on the fishing industry and oil and gas industry
  2. Potential short-term impacts of marine seismic surveys on scallops in the Gippsland Basin
  3. Assessing the impact of marine seismic surveys on southeast Australian scallop and lobster fisheries

The Australian Fisheries management Authority (AFMA) makes decisions about fisheries management using the best available science and data. Consistent with this approach, AFMA will consider the findings from this latest research when making future decisions on Commonwealth fisheries management.

The reports can be found at frd.com.au.
