Operating in the Commonwealth managed Eastern Tuna and Billfish Fishery (ETBF), Walker Seafoods was also the first tuna business in Australia to receive Marine Stewardship Council certification in recognition of its sustainable fishing operations.
AFMA, together with industry and scientists, work together to help ensure that Australians and our overseas markets have a healthy supply of Australian seafood both now, and well into the future.
The results of the strong commitment by industry and AFMA’s science based approach to fisheries management speak for themselves, with the increase to overall catch limits in the ETBF in recent years. With the ETBF being the main source of high quality, fresh yellowfin tuna to eastern Australia, Australian lovers of sushi and sashimi can celebrate!
