We are looking for suitably qualified and skilled Chairpersons for our Management Advisory Committees (MACs).
AFMA works hard to regulate fishing activity to make sure that we have sustainable and profitable fisheries. Advisory committees play a key role in helping us to achieve this by giving us high quality advice.
Suitable candidates will be placed on a Register which is used to fill vacancies as they arise.
Membership of each committee consists of a diverse group of stakeholders with the Chair playing an important leadership role in guiding and helping the committee formulate its advice to AFMA.
Advisory committees can meet from one to four times per year with some intersessional work. Chairs are paid a sitting fee and AFMA reimburses any expenses they incur in attending meetings.
